Manchester United<\/a> striker Wayne Rooney<\/a> has insisted that Chelsea<\/a> will again pose the biggest threat to his side next season, after pipping the Blues to the title.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following a season of inconsistency for all the big clubs in England, United eventually won the Premier League nine points ahead of second-placed Chelsea, while neighbours Manchester City finishing in third, one place ahead of Arsenal.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Blues are set for a summer of rebuilding after a disappointing year that uncovered many frailties, whilst City will continue to spend and United boss Sir Alex ferguson has claimed he will sign at least three players this summer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite that Rooney still believes Chelsea pose United\u2019s biggest threat.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Chelsea will be our main rivals for the league next season,” he told talkSPORT<\/em>. “They are so strong and powerful and ended the season so well.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“Chelsea, Manchester City, Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal will all be fighting for top four,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It makes it even more intense. It wouldn’t surprise you if any of those teams finished in the top two.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The teams in the lower half have improved. Going away from home was so difficult this season.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
