{"id":433334,"date":"2011-05-31T12:03:41","date_gmt":"2011-05-31T12:03:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/05\/31\/zambia-rbs-call-to-proiritise-education\/"},"modified":"2011-05-31T12:03:41","modified_gmt":"2011-05-31T12:03:41","slug":"zambia-rbs-call-to-proiritise-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/05\/31\/zambia-rbs-call-to-proiritise-education\/","title":{"rendered":"Zambia: RB&#8217;s Call to Proiritise Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"30.8648325359\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.times.co.zm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/img\/static\/publishers\/minibanners\/timeszambia180.jpg\" alt=\"The Times of Zambia (Ndola)\" title=\"Visit The Times of Zambia (Ndola)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>30 May 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>editorial<\/p>\n<p>PRESIDENT Rupiah Banda&#8217;s call for the need to prioritise and focus on the provision of education should be supported by all well-meaning Zambians.<\/p>\n<p>This is so because the need for education in a country like Zambia to develop fast cannot be over emphasised.<\/p>\n<p>The Government has shown its commitment to cater for the population with the proper basic education as its primary goal and it has so far taken various measures to improve the education system in Zambia.<\/p>\n<p>The provision of education and skills development through training that will lead the country towards attaining the vision of becoming a prosperous middle-income earner by 2030 has been one of the key goals of the Government.<\/p>\n<p>This is indeed worth supporting because education forms the basis for the development of any nation.<\/p>\n<p>The Government has already taken important steps to make primary education available to all children between three years and 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>Its long-standing goal has been that every child who enters grade one should be able to complete grade nine.<\/p>\n<p>The girl-child is also not lagging behind in education.
