Cassava – a staple food in Ghana<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Executives of the Sissala Farmers Association have called for stringent measures to prevent food insecurity in the Sissala East District of the Upper West Region.<\/p>\n

They complained about the alarming rate at which foodstuff was being carted out of the area in search for better prices in the South although the lean season was approaching.<\/p>\n

A statement issued by Mr Kasim Sulemani, Chairman of the Association on Monday at Tumu called on stakeholders to throw their weight behind the members to bring the situation under control.<\/p>\n

The statement acknowledged the interventions of the government and non-governmental organisations towards food security and called on farmers to maximise the support to sustain the process.<\/p>\n
