\"\"<\/a>Mr David Kwesi Amos, the Head teacher of Fante Bawjiase District Assembly Primary, has appealed to chiefs in the area to help stop those using the classrooms of the school as their sleeping place.<\/p>\n

Mr Amoa said on Mondays, especially when there was funeral it the town, the children had to collect used condoms and clean human excreta from the classrooms before classes could be held, a situation he described as unpleasant.<\/p>\n

Mr Amos made this known when Glorious Vision Orphans (GLOVO), a non-governmental organization based at Agona Swedru, presented 30 dual desks and five bales of used clothing and shoes to the school.<\/p>\n

He said an appeal made to the chiefs and the District Assembly to wall the school about two decades ago to prevent those sleeping there had proved futile.<\/p>\n

Mr Amos called on the District Assembly, Ghana Education Service and the Member of Parliament for the area, to come to the aid of the school as a matter of urgency.<\/p>\n

He said the head teacher, primary one to three children have no chairs, while the kindergarten children were sitting on bamboo, adding that the KG children are attending school under a shed roofed with palm branches.<\/p>\n

Mr Samuel Ewusi, Assembly for Fante Bawjiase Electoral Area, said an Education committee had been set up to help find lasting solution to some of the problems facing the school to enhance teaching and learning.<\/p>\n

Mrs Mercy Gillan Asare Addo, Agona East District Director of Education, said the problem of no chairs was being sorted out with the Agona East District Assembly.<\/p>\n

Mrs Addo commended the NGO and appealed for similar assistance to other schools in the district.<\/p>\n

Mr Wiliam Yirenkyi, Executive Director of GLOVO, said the NGO had also presented 12 computers and accessories to four Junior High Schools at Agona Swedru to improve teaching of Information Communication and Technology in the Agona West Municipality.<\/p>\n

Mr Yirenkyi said the NGO was catering for over 100 underprivileged in the Agona West, East and Gomoa East districts.<\/p>\n
