The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Chief Executive (DCE) Mr. Peter Light Koomson, has called on opinion leaders, assembly and unit committee members to work in harmony to generate revenue for the assembly for development.

Mr Koomson who made the call during the inauguration of Bisease Area Council said payment of taxes and property rates and other internally generated funds are vital in beefing up the District Assemblies Common Fund to facilitate development in the area.

The DCE charged members to work in unity, devoid of party politics, adding that the time was ripe for Ghanaians to change the politics of insults and rancour and rather join hands with the ruling

government for the total development of the area.

Mr Solomon F. Cobbinah, Presiding Member of the Assembly who administered the Official Oath and Oath of Allegiance to the 48-member council said the task ahead of them would be borne by sacrifice, but however, “your good performance will determine what will follow”.

Nana Kwaku Bodae IV, Benkumhen of the town appealed to the Government and the Assembly to ensure that the locally built clinic became operational with the provision of a doctor’s bungalow.

He requested for the completion of the town’s community library complex which has been abandoned over a decade.

Other councils inaugurated included Ajumako, Eshiem-Ba, Abaasa, Enyan-Denkyira and Sunkwaa.
