{"id":432701,"date":"2011-05-30T12:54:39","date_gmt":"2011-05-30T12:54:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/05\/30\/survival-quest-now-down-to-four\/"},"modified":"2011-05-30T12:54:39","modified_gmt":"2011-05-30T12:54:39","slug":"survival-quest-now-down-to-four","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/05\/30\/survival-quest-now-down-to-four\/","title":{"rendered":"Survival Quest Now Down To Four"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div>Prior to kick off on match-day-29, eight clubs were involved in the relegation dogfight &#8211; AshantiGold being the latest to have joined the nervous finish &#8211; in the Glo Premier League.<\/p>\n<p>But after Sunday&#8217;s round of matches, four clubs &#8211; Berekum Arsenals, AshantiGold, Mighty Jets and King Faisal are still mired in the relegation struggles with just one place in the second tier of Ghana football yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>After 18 goals were recorded from eight venues, Real Tamale United have ended their 33-year stay in the elite division after losing 1-0 to New Edubiase at the Gyemfis Park.<\/p>\n<p>RTU fell to a first half goal from the spot by Stephen Manu as they would play their final game in the premiership and at home on June 5 against Aduana Stars before bidding goodbye to top-flight football.<\/p>\n<p>And they now join B.A. Stars into relegation awaiting the third side.<\/p>\n<p>Ebusua Dwarfs pulled away to safety after a 2-1 win against AshantiGold, who before the game had suffered points deduction following a disciplinary decision.<\/p>\n<p>Wa All Stars are safe and assured of premiership football after beating Jets 2-0 at the Wa Park with goals from Samuel Boateng and Frank Safo Gyamfi.<\/p>\n<p>Jets now need a win on the final day without depending on the outcome of the other matches to seal their place in the elite division.<\/p>\n<p>Nana Poku and Bennent Ofori helped Arsenals to a 2-0 victory away over B.A. Stars though they are still caught in the relegation zone.<\/p>\n<p>Former champions, Aduana Stars further pushed King Faisal into the bottom three after a Nurudeen Ali brace handed them a 2-0 home win.<\/p>\n<p>Asante Kotoko&#8217;s hopes of finishing second is over after Liberty Professionals came from behind to stun them in a 3-2 win at the Baba Yara Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmed Toure and Nathaniel Asamoah scored for Kotoko but they were undone by an injury time goal by Michael Helegbe, who scored a brace with Alfred Nelson also finding target.<\/p>\n<p>Medeama moved second when they completed the league double over Hearts of Oak at the Ohene Djan Stadium with a 3-2 victory. Louis Agyemang returned to haunt his former side when he grabbed the winner after Emmanuel Dogbe and Hans Kwoffie had scored for Medeama.
