{"id":432442,"date":"2011-05-30T03:16:52","date_gmt":"2011-05-30T03:16:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/05\/30\/dad-drags-son-to-court-for-redress\/"},"modified":"2011-05-30T03:16:52","modified_gmt":"2011-05-30T03:16:52","slug":"dad-drags-son-to-court-for-redress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/05\/30\/dad-drags-son-to-court-for-redress\/","title":{"rendered":"Dad Drags Son to Court for Redress"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"27.4129010003\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.herald.co.zw\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/img\/static\/publishers\/minibanners\/herald180.jpg\" alt=\"The Herald (Harare)\" title=\"Visit The Herald (Harare)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>27 May 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>A Harare man is drinking excessively and ending up being violent to his family members, the Harare Civil Court heard on Thurs- day.<\/p>\n<p>This was revealed when Elliot Nyakauru approached the court seeking a protection order against his son, Richard Nyakauru.<\/p>\n<p>Elliot told the court that Richard was disturbing his and his mother&#8217;s peace (Richard&#8217;s grandmother) by being violent when he gets drunk.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My son is drinking excessively and becomes violent to everyone including my mother.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He becomes rude and disrespectful to the extend of calling me by my first name,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The court heard Richard often comes home late and drunk thereby disturbing their sleep.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Recently he tried to open the door where my mother was sleeping using a knife.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He threatened to kill me when I tried to counsel him over his behaviour,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Richard did not deny the allegations, but argued that he was under the influence of alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I want to apologise for my actions. I drink but not very excessive to the extent of threatening to kill him.
