\"\"<\/a>The Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) is set to launch a
Post-Flood Recovery Programme to support families who were affected by\u00a0 floods in 2010 in the three northern regions as well as the Brong Ahafo region.<\/p>\n

SADA has allocated GH\u00a23million for the programme which is its first initiative.<\/p>\n

A release from the World Bank Ghana Office copied to ghanabusinessnews.com said the programme focuses on supporting about 6,000 families who lost crops and livelihoods during the floods of 2010.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe basic support package includes a fertilizer allocation to allow the
farmers to cultivate at least 2 acres per family, plus improved maize seeds
for at least 2 acres of farmland\u201d, the release said.<\/p>\n

These comprise approximately 2,500 families in the Northern Region, 1,200 in Upper East and Upper West Regions, 500 families each in the Northern Brong-Ahafo and Northern Volta Regions, it said.<\/p>\n

The programme kick-starts today Friday May 27, 2011, at Kogle, a village in the Lawra District.<\/p>\n
