The Gonja Traditional Council and the Yagbonwura have lost an appeal challenging the re-instatement of the Buipewura, Abdulai Jinapor.<\/p>\n
For more than a year the council has been in court contesting the position of the Buipewura.<\/p>\n
The Yagbonwura who is president of the council last year announced the de-skinning of Buipewura Abdulai Jinapour after both got into a disagreement.<\/p>\n
Though a high court later re-instated the buipewura Abdulai Jinapour, the council was unimpressed and appealed the decision.<\/p>\n
But on Thursday, the Appeals Court in Kumasi threw out that appeal.<\/p>\n
Spokesperson for the Buipewura, Dr. Ahmed Jinapour hoped the Gonja Traditional Council will respect the decision.<\/p>\n
He said on several occasions the Buipewura has won his case in court but the Yagbonwura remained intransigent.<\/p>\n
He hoped Thursday\u2019s appeal verdict will end the animosity between the two and the rule of law will be allowed to take its course.<\/p>\n
The Court of Appeal also awarded 500 cedis cost against the Gonja Traditional Council.<\/p>\n
