{"id":431153,"date":"2011-05-27T06:56:40","date_gmt":"2011-05-27T06:56:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/05\/27\/bloomsbury-sees-e-book-sales-jump\/"},"modified":"2011-05-27T06:56:40","modified_gmt":"2011-05-27T06:56:40","slug":"bloomsbury-sees-e-book-sales-jump","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/05\/27\/bloomsbury-sees-e-book-sales-jump\/","title":{"rendered":"Bloomsbury sees e-book sales jump"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div readability=\"51.2949061662\"><span><span>27 May 2011<\/span> <span>Last updated at<\/span> <span>02:56 ET<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Publisher Bloomsbury says its sales of e-books has soared as the worldwide popularity of electronic readers rises.<\/p>\n<p>Its comments came as it reported pre-tax profits for the 14 months to 28 February of \u00a34.2m.<\/p>\n<p>E-book sales were \u00a31.5m, up from \u00a379,000 last year, with chief executive Nigel Newton saying they were changing the face of the publishing industry.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Demand for digital delivery, including e-books, is increasing significantly,&#8221; Mr Newton said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It will change the publishing business model, creating one worldwide market,&#8221; he added. &#8220;The publishing world is handling its own revolution.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Bloomsbury reported profits for a 14-month period as it is changing its financial year.
