ASABA-CHAIRMAN of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Chief Peter Nwabaoshi, has\u00a0 denied alleged plot by\u00a0his party to bomb the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, office, Asaba.<\/p>\n

DPP Elders and Stakeholders Forum in Delta State, had, in a statement\u00a0 alleged that a\u00a0 political party (name withheld) had concluded arrangements to bomb INEC, Asaba, office, to destroy electoral materials used during the April 26, governorship elections in a bid to frustrate his party\u2019s\u00a0 (DPP) case before the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sittting in Asaba.<\/p>\n

Nwaboshi maintained that, \u201cgiven the manner the allegation was made by DPP, that a political party wants to bomb INEC office to destroy electoral materials in order to incapacitate their petition at the tribunal, already sitting at Asaba, I suspect it was DPP that had indeed, finalised plans to bomb INEC office.\u201d<\/p>\n

He called on security agents to properly investigate the matter and bring the conspirators to book.
Also, commenting on the planned bomb attack,\u00a0 the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, governorship candidate in the last governorship election in the state, Mr. Emmanuel Igbini, said, \u201csince the refusal to disclose the name of the opposition party implies that my party, the PRP is a suspect, I demand the Police to\u00a0 invite the DPP to assist with information at its disposal.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
