Asaba \u2013 DELTA State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has said\u00a0 the state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chairman, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi, cannot claim ignorance that he was not consulted for his input before the list of ministerial-nominees from the\u00a0 state was sent to Abuja.<\/p>\n

At a media parley in Asaba, yesterday, he said, \u201cI take responsibility for that list. I sent the list based on the letter from the national headquarters\u00a0 that we should send 10 names and I consulted widely, including the state party chairman. I have it on record.\u201d
Nwaoboshi had told Vanguard in Asaba,\u00a0 Tuesday, that he had no knowledge of how the list emanated.<\/p>\n

Nwaoboshi had said, \u201cI\u00a0 received over 400 telephone calls about the list. I was shocked because I don\u2019t know anything about this list published in Vanguard.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had told the people to remain calm. As I said earlier, as the chairman of the party, I was not aware about the list.\u201d
The list contained the names of the governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, CAN, Chief Ovie Omo-Agege, a critic of the Uduaghan-led administration,\u00a0 who emerged third during the April governorship election.<\/p>\n

Also on the list is\u00a0 Elder Godsday Orubebe, who was at a time, said to have been anointed by elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, to take over power from the governor.<\/p>\n

Other nominees from Delta included Chief Godwill Obielum, who wanted to become governor during former governor James Ibori era, Chief Solomon Ogba, former Speaker of the Delta House, Young Igbrude, a foundation PDP member but who later crossed to the Democratic Peoples Party, DPP,\u00a0 but later came back to the PDP\u00a0 and Mariam Nneamaka Ali, who had been clamouring to become a Senator but failed after several bids.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
