{"id":430647,"date":"2011-05-26T12:14:36","date_gmt":"2011-05-26T12:14:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/05\/26\/up-youth-wing-members-move-to-lp\/"},"modified":"2011-05-26T12:14:36","modified_gmt":"2011-05-26T12:14:36","slug":"up-youth-wing-members-move-to-lp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/05\/26\/up-youth-wing-members-move-to-lp\/","title":{"rendered":"UP Youth Wing Members move To LP"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"48.1302480916\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.analystliberia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/img\/static\/publishers\/minibanners\/analyst180.jpg\" alt=\"The Analyst (Monrovia)\" title=\"Visit The Analyst (Monrovia)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>26 May 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>At head of election 2011, the Liberian political ground shaking considerably as politicians, political groupings as well as ordinary voters are crossing over from one party to another at head of the 2011 election.<\/p>\n<p>The latest is a group of ruling Unity Party youth wing members who have entered into loyalty commitment to securing a membership with the opposition Liberty Party in it bids to win elections this year.<\/p>\n<p>At a well attended program held at the Liberty Party headquarters on the Old Road in Monrovia, Tuesday, over 50 youth wing members representing 150 of their colleagues from the ruling Unity party led by the former Acting National Youth Wing Coordinator Roland Giddings and Mr. Johnny C. Sargbeh, Jr. joined the opposition Liberty Party.<\/p>\n<p>They indicated that their action is triggered by suppression, failed promises, massive dismissal under the so-call \u201crightsizing\u201d policy. These conditions, they say, \u201chave caused us to bid farewell to the ruling Unity Party of Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Giddings told the gathering that their move to the opposition Liberty Party will set the ruling party on a political fire to prove that the larger Liberian society has since lost interest in the party and its standard-bearer\u2019s second term bid.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Giddings who said he replaced Mr. Eric Smith as National Youth Wing Coordinator of the Unity Party took the decision after resigning his post within the UP along with the former National Coordinator for Mobilization and Recruitment, Mr. Johnny C. Sargbeh Jr. of the same party.<\/p>\n<p>The two men said they were able to rally over 150 youth from the Unity party to give their support to Cllr. Charles W.
