Minna –\u00a0 Five suspected persons\u00a0 were on Wednesday arraigned before a Minna Chief Magistrates\u2019 Court for murder.<\/p>\n

The suspects were alleged to have murdered a 12-year-old boy, Shamshudeen Musa, for rituals in Sabunga Village in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger, two weeks ago.<\/p>\n

The suspects are Mohammed Haruna, Musa Ahmadu, Isah Musa, Yakubu Garba and Yakubu Aboki.<\/p>\n

The Police Prosecutor, Mr Emmanuel Bassa, told the court that the suspects connived to kill Musa after one of them was promised N2 million.<\/p>\n

Accordingly, others were promised three bedroom bungalow each if they could provide human body parts for ritual to aid the ambition of a local politician.<\/p>\n

Bassa said the three-count charge of criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and culpable homicide, allegedly committed by the suspects was contrary to the Penal Code Law.<\/p>\n

When the charge was read to the accused persons, one of them, Haruna pleaded guilty while the others pleaded not guilty to the charge.<\/p>\n

The Chief Magistrate, Hassan Mohammed, directed that the case be referred to the Ministry of Justice for advice since the court had no jurisdiction to try the accused persons.<\/p>\n

He ordered the suspects to be remanded in prison custody until June 14. (NAN)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
