As Ghana approaches election 2012 and the 20th anniversary of Ghana\u2019s return to democracy, the Convention People\u2019s Party has demanded that the NDC and NPP abort what the party calls, their unbridled thirst for political power and stay away from the governance of the country.<\/p>\n
The CPP said this had become imperative in view of their failure to realise that they lack the vision and the ideology required to transform Ghana.<\/p>\n
The CPP contends that the NDC\u2019s Better Ghana Agenda has remained a mere slogan as is evidenced in the stagnation of the economy and the prevailing high unemployment rate in the country.<\/p>\n
In the same vein, it also said that the NPP\u2019s Property Owning Democracy and Private Sector-led Economic Management Strategy for a developing country could not transform the Ghanaian economy even if they governed Ghana for a century.<\/p>\n
These were contained in a statement signed by Mr Ladi Nylander, the Chairman and Leader of the CPP.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe CPP, on the other hand, continues to be guided by its ideology of Self-Determination, Social Justice and Pan Africanism; the ideology which informed the fast-track developmental policies of Ghana from 1957 to 1966; to the extent that some 50 per cent of Ghana\u2019s current infrastructure was developed through the force of that ideology under the CPP government,\u201d it stated.<\/p>\n
Following the constitution of the CPP Shadow Cabinet last year, it said that the party had published several alternative policy visions with the theme \u201cHow CPP Will Do It\u201d.<\/p>\n
These alternative policy visions have been informed by the CPP ideology, an indication that when CPP attains political power it would not compromise and that the state would lead and use its purchasing power to open up the economy to make room for Ghanaians to become its dominant players.<\/p>\n
It also indicated that when the CPP says \u201cwe will abolish the BECE as the first exit point for children; some as young as age 13 in our educational system, and introduce a standard educational system that makes education up to the senior high school level free and compulsory, it is informed by the Social Justice Pillar of the CPP ideology\u201d.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, it said the CPP would lead the economic transformation of Africa by pursuing an aggressive economic integration policy, a policy vision informed by the CPP ideological pillar of Pan Africanism.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe wish to make it abundantly clear to all, especially the NDC and NPP, that the CPP alternative policy visions were developed based on sound tried and tested scientific methods and a solid ideology suitable for the transformation of a developing country like Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
