CALABAR-The Cross River State Government has spent N38 billion on the construction of 506.62 kilometres of roads, Mr. Eko Atu, state Director General, Rural Development Agency, RUDA, has said.<\/p>\n

Mr. Atu, who disclosed this during an interaction in Calabar,\u00a0 said work on the various project sites, which are in all the 18 local government areas of the state was about 80 per cent completed and are according to specification.<\/p>\n

He said that the remaining portions of the state-wide project will be completed \u201cbefore the rains set in this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the RUDA Director General, reasonable strides have been recorded by the Governor Liyel Imoke led administration in the water and sanitation sector.<\/p>\n

He disclosed that the European Union, EU, has given the state a grant of five million Euro, adding that the EU\u2019s water sanitation Collaborative Council Grant was meant to rehabilitate, repair and maintain water projects in Benue and Cross River States.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
