However, Catherine Banda&#8217;s lawyer requested the court to defer the plea to allow him time to scrutinise an affidavit the police will be using to oppose a bail application.<\/p>\n<p>Banda is charged with trafficking in 891.9 grammes of cocaine on May 21. &#8220;The suspect, holding a Zambian passport, was arrested by anti-narcotics police officers as she was going to Ndola, Zambia from Nairobi on a KQ flight.The drugs were concealed in assorted tins and cosmetic tubes found in her suitcase,&#8221; the affidavit read in part.<\/p>\n<p>The police will be opposing bail on the grounds that she is a foreigner with no family in Kenya and if released, she may sneak out of the country to evade trial.
