ASABA-AS scarcity of kerosene bites harder in some parts of the country, housewives in Asaba, Delta State capital, have resorted to keeping vigil at filling stations to enable them buy the product.<\/p>\n

The product is sold in the town and other neighbouring villages between N150 and N230 per litre, which most residents, especially housewives and housemaids have protested the hike in price.<\/p>\n

While some had resorted to firewood, other users of stove, who refused to buy at cut-throat price have been keeping vigil at filling stations, where they could buy at cheaper prices.<\/p>\n

By 11.08 p.m., Monday, hundreds of empty jerry cans were lined up at Oando Filling Station on Nnebisi Road, while their owners\u00a0 clustered around waiting for their turn. Some of them even slept off.<\/p>\n

The situation remained\u00a0 same till yesterday morning before the management of the station dispersed them.<\/p>\n

One of the housewives interviewed, said \u201cwe came here for\u00a0 kerosene because\u00a0 they will sell at cheaper cost.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
