Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed the club are closing in on the signature of Atletico Madrid keeper David de Gea.<\/p>\n

United are in the market for a keeper to succeed Edwin Van der Sar, who retires at the end of this season.<\/p>\n

“We’ve been working on it the deal for quite a while,” said Ferguson after Gary Neville’s testimonial on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

“He is young, very quick, good composure, presence and an outstanding replacement for Van der Sar.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
