ABEOKUTA \u2013 IN apparent\u00a0 bid to re-position the party for the challenges ahead, the Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP in Ogun State, in the last governorship election; Chief Adetunji Olurin\u00a0 has emerged the leader of the party in the state.<\/p>\n

His emergence also coincided with the election of Chief Sule Onabiyi as the state chairman of the
party\u2019s elders\u2019 council.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, which\u00a0 was held at the Government Reservation Area [GRA] residence of Chief Onabiyi at the weekend, both Olurin\u00a0 and Onabiyi in their acceptance speeches called for\u00a0 unity and discipline in the party.<\/p>\n

Chief Olurin in his speech enjoined all the party members to bury their differences and join hands with him and other leaders for the party to become stronger in the state.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019The position reposed to me now is a call to service and I promise with god wisdom, advice, assistance from you all we shall succeed in bringing the party lost glory in the state back\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n

In his own speech, Chief Onabiyi said \u2018\u2019let us put the elections behind us, we thank God that PDP won the Presidential Election. What we need now is unity, discipline selfless service, commitment and not authoritarian and selfishness from elders\u201d.<\/p>\n

Notable among the party leaders who attended the meeting include the former Chairman of the Party Elder Joju Fadairo, Chief (Mrs. Titilayo Ajankau, Senator Kola Bajomo, and Chief (Mrs.) Lola Abiola-Edewor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
