{"id":428431,"date":"2011-05-23T06:52:00","date_gmt":"2011-05-23T06:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/05\/23\/carlo-ancelotti-targets-stay-in-premier-league-following-chelsea-sacking\/"},"modified":"2011-05-23T06:52:00","modified_gmt":"2011-05-23T06:52:00","slug":"carlo-ancelotti-targets-stay-in-premier-league-following-chelsea-sacking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/05\/23\/carlo-ancelotti-targets-stay-in-premier-league-following-chelsea-sacking\/","title":{"rendered":"Carlo Ancelotti targets stay in Premier League following Chelsea sacking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n<h3>By Liam Twomey<\/h3>\n<h4>23 May 2011 07:52:00<\/h4>\n<\/p>\n<div readability=\"63.5079214195\">\n<div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Carlo Ancelotti, Chelsea\" src=\"http:\/\/u.goal.com\/131000\/131045_news.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Carlo Ancelotti, Chelsea<\/p>\n<h4>Related Links<\/h4>\n<h4>Teams<\/h4>\n<h4>Players<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<p><span readability=\"26.5395348837\">Sacked <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goal.com\/en-gb\/teams\/england\/96\/chelsea\">Chelsea<\/a> manager <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goal.com\/en-gb\/people\/italy\/59\/carlo-ancelotti\">Carlo Ancelotti<\/a> has revealed he would like to stay and manage in England despite being shown the door by Roman Abramovich.<\/p>\n<p>The 51-year-old was dismissed immediately after speaking to the media in the wake of the Blues&#8217; disappointing 1-0 final-day defeat to a 10-man Everton side on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Despite leading Chelsea to a league and cup double in his first season at Stamford Bridge, Ancelotti&#8217;s sacking was widely expected after the Italian presided over a trophyless campaign in west London this time around.<\/p>\n<p>There had been speculation Ancelotti would return to Italy and former club Roma as uncertainty over his Chelsea future grew, but on numerous occasions he has stated a desire to remain in England for the foreseeable future, with Manchester City and, more recently, relegated West Ham being cited as possible destinations.<\/p>\n<p>The Italian reiterated his preference for staying in the Premier League in the aftermath of his sacking on Sunday evening as he looked back on his time at Chelsea.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I received news of my sacking before the flight,\u201d he told reporters. \u201cI accept and I respect Chelsea\u2019s decision. I spent two fantastic years in this club. I think I made a good job.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Now, I think about my future.
