Olumuyiwa Alade Ajibola, speaking in Abuja yesterday, noted that for the sake of performance and quality executive service to the citizenry, \u201cNigerian professionals demand that the President constitutes his cabinet with at least 60 percent technocrats and 40 percent politicians, if not completely 100 percent technocrats.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to him, \u201chaving achieved a free, fair and transparent election, it is now time to consolidate on the gains and ensure a free, fair and transparent governance by placing square pegs in square holes for effective deliverance of the dividends of democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chief Ajibola argued that only by using technocrats in discharging his executive functions could the president quickly begin to realize substantial and unprecedented gains in productivity by cashing into the Information Technology age.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cTo this extent, there is need to use competent Nigerian professionals to undertake a comprehensive examination of how work flows through government and first identify processes that need to be revised, replaced or simply eliminated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis also has the potential of enhancing transparency in government processes.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Comments are moderated.
