Ministry of the Interior on Friday reminded the general public that Wednesday, May 25, which marks African Union (AU) Day is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.<\/p>\n
The reminder was contained in a statement issued by the Sector Minister, Dr Benjamin Kunbuor in Accra.<\/p>\n
The celebration is in consonance with the AU Declaration adopted at its 12th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government in 2009 to make 2009-2018 the Decade for Youth Development in Africa.<\/p>\n
The theme for this year\u2019s celebration the Day is \u201cAccelerating Youth Empowerment for Sustainable Development\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
