{"id":427573,"date":"2011-05-20T19:33:59","date_gmt":"2011-05-20T19:33:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/05\/20\/kili-taifa-cup-quarterfinalists-receive-kits\/"},"modified":"2011-05-20T19:33:59","modified_gmt":"2011-05-20T19:33:59","slug":"kili-taifa-cup-quarterfinalists-receive-kits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/05\/20\/kili-taifa-cup-quarterfinalists-receive-kits\/","title":{"rendered":"Kili Taifa Cup Quarterfinalists Receive Kits"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"50.689258312\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dailynews.co.tz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tanzania Daily News<\/a> (Dar\u00a0es\u00a0Salaam)<\/p>\n<p>Daily News Reporter, Arusha<\/p>\n<p>20 May 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>With the quarterfinals of this year&#8217;s Kili Taifa Cup soccer tournament scheduled to start here on Sunday, the eight participating teams received sports kits on Friday to signal the beginning of yet another exciting battle for supremacy.<\/p>\n<p>Each of the eight teams got two sets of jerseys, football boots and balls worth 50m\/- from the tournament&#8217;s sponsors, Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL).<\/p>\n<p>Arusha District Commissioner, Raymond Mushi, who presided over the kits&#8217; presentation ceremony, thanked TBL for its continuous support to the tournament through its brand, Kilimanjaro Premium Lager.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sports are very important to human beings because, apart from propelling them to fame upon achieving success, they offer employment opportunities,&#8221; said Mushi.<\/p>\n<p>The quarterfinalists that received the kits are Singida &#8216;Kindai Shooting Stars&#8217;, Ilala, Mwanza &#8216;Mwanza Heroes&#8217;, Arusha &#8216;Mount Meru Warriors&#8217;, Mbeya, Ruvuma &#8216;Ruvuma Warriors&#8217;, the national U-23 team &#8216;Vijana Stars&#8217; and Kagera &#8216;Lweru Eagles.<\/p>\n<p>The tournament&#8217;s fixture released by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), the first quarterfinal duel will pit Singida against Ilala at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Memorial Stadium at 2pm, to be followed by the Mwanza versus Arusha at 4pm.<\/p>\n<p>Mbeya will confront Ruvuma on Monday at 2pm before Vijana Stars play Kagera. The semi-final matches will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday while the third-place play-off will take place on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The final will be played the following day and all games will take place at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>All quarterfinalists have already arrived in the region ready to launch a quest for the top honour in the tournament, which has attracted the attention of plenty of domestic soccer lovers.<\/p>\n<p>According to TFF, referees with FIFA-badge will officiate in all quarterfinal games.
