George Elokobi<\/a> expects his side to stay up this season and is backing the Molineux crowd to push them to safety.<\/p>\nThe West Midlands outfit won their last two matches against rivals West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland to make sure going into their final fixture that they are outside the relegation places, albeit by one point and a slightly superior goal difference to the teams below them.<\/p>\n
And Elokobi, who scored the third goal at the Stadium of Light last week and the opener against Manchester United at Molineux earlier this season, is confident that Wolves will overcome fellow relegation candidates Blackburn Rovers to secure a third consecutive year in the Premier League.<\/p>\n
“Everyone is confident and the mood in the camp is all good,” he told skysports.com<\/em>.
“It is vital we win and get the three points to stay in the Premier League.\u201d<\/p>\nThe left-back is also glad that the match on Sunday is at home \u2013 where Wolves have beaten United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool \u2013 and said the club will treat the match just like every other this season.<\/p>\n
He added: “It is a bonus that we are playing at home in front of our own fans and they will push us on to win the game.<\/p>\n
“Blackburn are a tough team and it will be a tough game as they are also fighting to stay up, but if we stick together and concentrate on our own game we are good enough to win the game and get the three points to stay up.<\/p>\n
“We are not treating it as a cup final as that will just put extra pressure on ourselves.<\/p>\n
“We know what is at stake and we don’t need to stress.<\/p>\n
“It is another game of football and we will treat it like we have the other 37 games we have played this season.<\/p>\n
“We respect every game we play and we will try and make sure we do everything we can to stay in the Premier League.”<\/p>\n
Wolves look likely to go into the game without Kevin Doyle, who is struggling with injury, although they have been boosted by the form of Steven Fletcher, who has scored three goals in his last two matches.<\/p>\n
They face a Blackburn side who have also picked up in form and know a point from the match will realistically mean they are safe.<\/p>\n
