Manchester United<\/a> striker Wayne Rooney<\/a> does not want to miss out on playing in the club’s last Premier League<\/a> game of the season against Blackpool<\/a>, despite facing Barcelona<\/a> just six days later in the Champions League<\/a> final.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils have already sealed their 19th league title prior to Sunday’s final fixture, but the England international does not wish to be rested.<\/p>\n

He was quoted as saying by The Sun<\/em>: “It’s down to the manager to pick what team he wants to play in the two matches.<\/p>\n

“But I’m sure all the players want to play. You play football to play in these games and I hope I can play Sunday.”<\/p>\n

Ahead of the title celebrations, the Liverpudlian emphasised the importance of keeping match fitness by playing in such games.<\/p>\n

“You want to keep ticking over,” he continued.<\/p>\n

Rooney, 25, also spoke of his pride at lifting a fourth Premier League title since joining United in 2004.<\/p>\n

He said: “Lifting the trophy is a great feeling. It’s great to look back on and something to show your kids when they are older.”<\/p>\n
