Contemporary Highlife musician, Kwabena Kwabena has finally joined the debate over who actually sang the chorus of the song \u2018Faithful Girls\u2019.<\/p>\n
This follows recent reports that the 2009 Artiste of the Year, Okyeame Kwame (OK), who owns the song, did not sing the chorus credited to him, but rather Kwabena Kwabena. In what appears to be a vindication of an earlier stand taken by Okyeame Kwame that he wrote and sang the chorus (and the rap verse), as well as the entire lyrics of the song, Kwabena Kwabena has admitted he did not sing the chorus.<\/p>\n
Kwabena reportedly made the claim last week Monday. \u201cReally, I don\u2019t know who and how this started because I\u2019ve not said it anywhere that I sang the chorus. And the truth, indeed, is that I didn\u2019t sing the chorus.<\/p>\n
\u201cOkyeame Kwame, as I\u2019ve known him, is not only a good rapper, but an interesting singer to listen to as well. Do you know that he rapped and sang the chorus of his song \u2018Kwame Ghana\u2019 all by himself? That\u2019s his talent I\u2019m talking about.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a response to how come he (Kwabena Kwabena) was linked to singing the chorus, he explained: \u201cI only did some little, little back-ups and ad-libs on it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u2018Faithful Girls\u2019, the latest single of Okyeame Kwame, which was released earlier this year, features songbird Bertha Karikari of Stars of the Future fame. The song is currently topping musical charts in the country, with its video fascinating music lovers.<\/p>\n
Touching on the song\u2019s prospects so far, Okyeame Kwame, who is currently on a musical tour of Europe, said: \u201cThis is only a single from my upcoming album \u2018The Clinic\u2019, to be released soon, so I consider such a reception as good news.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
