Rio Ferdinand<\/a> has hit back at Steve Morgan after the Wolves chief called for Manchester United<\/a> to be fined if they field a weakened team against Blackpool on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Wolves themselves were hit with a \u00a325,000 fine last season for doing the same thing at Old Trafford as Mick McCarthy rested key players, but this time around his club want United punished.<\/p>\n

Ferdinand, though, is adamant his manager Sir Alex Ferguson should be able to do what he wants, and even suggested he got away with fielding weakened teams earlier in the season.<\/p>\n

“Why have 25man squad if you’re hammered for utilising it?! It doesn’t make sense,” Ferdinand tweeted.<\/p>\n

“When we changed eight or nine players (and won) for one or two games earlier in the season I didn’t hear the call for docking points then?!”<\/p>\n

A victory for Blackpool on Sunday against Ferdinand’s team could spell disaster for Wolves, who are just one point above the 18th-placed Seasiders in one of the closest relegation battles in years.<\/p>\n
