{"id":426676,"date":"2011-05-19T08:25:12","date_gmt":"2011-05-19T08:25:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/05\/19\/8-foreign-envoys-present-credentials\/"},"modified":"2011-05-19T08:25:12","modified_gmt":"2011-05-19T08:25:12","slug":"8-foreign-envoys-present-credentials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/05\/19\/8-foreign-envoys-present-credentials\/","title":{"rendered":"8 Foreign Envoys Present Credentials"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"51.5248796148\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newtimes.co.rw\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/img\/static\/publishers\/minibanners\/newtimes180.jpg\" alt=\"The New Times (Kigali)\" title=\"Visit The New Times (Kigali)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Frank Kanyesigye<\/p>\n<p>19 May 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>Kigali \u2014 It was an eventful day at Village Urugwiro yesterday, as eight ambassadors and high commissioners presented their letters of accreditation to President Paul Kagame.<\/p>\n<p>They were the Ambassadors from Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Benin, the Kingdom of Thailand, Portugal, Norway and the High Commissioner of Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>First to present credentials was Cuba&#8217;s Ambassador to Rwanda, Francesco Javier Viamontes Correa, who told reporters that he will embark on promoting bilateral co-operation between Rwanda and Cuba, especially in the areas of health and education.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We want to share our knowledge, experience, solidarity with the government of Rwanda and I am impressed by the developments Rwanda has achieved in a short period of time,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Correa who has a permanent residence in Kampala, stated that there was a team 30 Cuban doctors who concluded their contracts in Rwanda in March and that his country was working on a new agreement to continue the programme.<\/p>\n<p>The new North Korean envoy, Jong Thae Yang, said that he will strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the areas of agriculture, education and public health.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am impressed by Kigali, it&#8217;s one of the cleanliest cities I have ever seen in Africa,&#8221; noted Yang who resides in Kampala.<\/p>\n<p>The Ghanaian High Commissioner, Kingsley Saka Abdul Karimu stressed that Ghana and Rwanda have enjoyed good bilateral relationship over the years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am going to work with the government here to explore all avenues where we can improve economic cooperation,&#8221; said Karimu, who has a permanent residence in Nairobi.<\/p>\n<p>The Kampala-based Iranian envoy, Ali Akbar Dabiran, said that he will embark on cementing bilateral cooperation between the two countries by bringing investors to Rwanda especially in the field of Agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>The Thai Ambassador, Kosit Chatpaiboon, noted that his country has advanced technologies to offer in terms of education and ICT.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<fieldset>\n<legend align=\"center\"><strong>More News on allAfrica.com<\/strong><\/legend>\n<\/fieldset>\n<p>AllAfrica &#8211; All the Time<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Read More:<br \/>\n<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/stories\/201105190430.html\" title=\"8 Foreign Envoys Present Credentials\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">8 Foreign Envoys Present Credentials<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> Frank Kanyesigye 19 May 2011 Kigali \u2014 It was an eventful day at Village Urugwiro yesterday, as eight ambassadors and high commissioners presented their letters of accreditation to President Paul Kagame.
