It is the only tertiary hospital in the southern part of Ghana and it is also a teaching hospital affiliated with the medical school of the University of Ghana .The hospital is currently being run by Prof. Nii Otu Nartey. The first kidney transplant in the region was undertaken in November 2008.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/joblistghana.com\/tag\/laboratory\" rel=\"tag\" title=\"Posts tagged with Laboratory\">Laboratory<\/a> Manager <a title=\"Vacancy\" href=\"http:\/\/joblistghana.com\">Vacancy<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div readability=\"8\">\n<p><strong>Main purpose of the position:<br \/><\/strong>To have oversight responsibility for the smooth running of the Laboratory and contribute to effective financial management in the facility.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to the effective Administration of the laboratory including planning, organizing and directing of the department<\/li>\n<li>Arrange management meetings, compile agendas and circulate minutes of meetings to provide a high level of support to the management of the Laboratory Sub-BMC<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to planning, management and maintenance of physical assets (equipment and store) of the laboratory<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to contract administration and the management of human resource in the laboratory<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with the finance department on financial matters to ensure effective financial planning and internal control measures in the laboratory<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the preparation and submission of periodic operational reports on the laboratory<\/li>\n<li>Supervise and direct the activities of clerical, administrative staff in the laboratory<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement business plan, programme of work and budget for the laboratory<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for matters related to the common services of the central laboratory<\/li>\n<li>Prepare duty and leave rosters of all staff and monitor staff attendance<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all orders are dealt with expeditiously by all units within the chain<\/li>\n<li>Provide laboratory orientation for new clinical staff<\/li>\n<li>Managing overall laboratory operation, developing procedures to ensure safety, security, quality and accuracy of results<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that laboratory staff follow prescribed policies and procedures in testing samples<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div readability=\"7\">\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>BSc in Biomedical Science\/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent plus a Masters\u2019 degree (or equivalent) in a relevant specialty with at least five (5) years\u2019 working experience at a senior level<\/li>\n<li>Management and Supervisory experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience in Human Resource Management issues<\/li>\n<li>Research experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience in budget management<\/li>\n<li>Experience in development and implementation of new diagnostic technologies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div readability=\"11\">\n<p>Qualified Applicants may submit application letters personally with a detailed CV to the following:<\/p>\n<h2>Korle Bu Teaching Hospital\u00a0address:<\/h2>\n<p><strong>DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>KORLE BU TEACHING HOSPITAL<br \/>P.
