His father Henry Gikonyo received him from Kenyan police officers.<\/p>\n<p>Kamau&#8217;s family had been looking for him since his disappearance and travelled to Lunga Lunga in Tanzania to confirm if indeed it was Peter, and bring him home.<\/p>\n<p>The student who disappeared on March 18 was found last Tuesday, but could not comprehend what was going on around him.<\/p>\n<p>Tears of joy flowed after father and son were reunited in Mombasa.<\/p>\n<p>Gikonyo said he received a call last Saturday informing him that Kamau was alive and well in a foreign country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was called by his colleague, and he even gave me details about my son, so eventually, we had to come and confirm whether it was him,&#8221; the father said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Gikonyo, Peter only recalls the last time when he was at the university and cannot explain how he ended up in Tanzania.<\/p>\n<p>A good Samaritan is said to have picked him up after he was found near a forest.<\/p>\n<p>The family took Kamau to Aga Khan hospital since he appeared weak and could not digest solid food.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are happy that he is alive but he cannot speak or even eat, he seems quite weak for now,&#8221; Gikonyo said.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<fieldset>\n<legend align=\"center\"><strong>More News on allAfrica.com<\/strong><\/legend>\n<\/fieldset>\n<p>AllAfrica &#8211; All the Time<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Visit site:<br \/>\n<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/stories\/201105180045.html\" title=\"Missing University of Nairobi Student Found in Tanzania\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Missing University of Nairobi Student Found in Tanzania<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> Nairobi Star (Nairobi) Maureen Mudi 17 May 2011 A 24-year-old engineering student from the University of Nairobi who disappeared from the institution in March, was found in Tanzania.
