{"id":425645,"date":"2011-05-17T15:40:02","date_gmt":"2011-05-17T15:40:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/05\/17\/ilo-praises-government-for-progress-in-favour-of-children\/"},"modified":"2011-05-17T15:40:02","modified_gmt":"2011-05-17T15:40:02","slug":"ilo-praises-government-for-progress-in-favour-of-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/05\/17\/ilo-praises-government-for-progress-in-favour-of-children\/","title":{"rendered":"ILO Praises Government for Progress in Favour of Children"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"37.247007617\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.angolapress-angop.ao\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/img\/static\/publishers\/minibanners\/angop180.jpg\" alt=\"Angola Press Agency (Luanda)\" title=\"Visit Angola Press Agency (Luanda)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>17 May 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>Luanda \u2014 The representative of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), Tom\u00e1s Vera Cruz, Tuesday in Luanda, congratulated the Angolan Government on the progress achieved in favour of children and their full development.<\/p>\n<p>Tom\u00e1s Vera Cruz was speaking at the &#8220;International Workshop on Child Labour in Portuguese Speaking Countries&#8221; going with the theme &#8220;Situation of child labour in Portuguese speaking countries in face of the millennium goals&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>According to the ILO official, the effort of Angolan Government in favour of children has been outstanding in education and reduction of maternal-infant death.<\/p>\n<p>Tomas Cruz said that the event that is being attended by Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP) representatives is important and significant as the eradication of child labour remains a fundamental challenge in the development of each country and a priority for all.<\/p>\n<p>He mentioned that according to a report from the Global Conference on Child Labour of Hague, in 2011, more than 215 million in the world are subject to labour, with half of them believed to be confronted with the worst forms of child labour.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that in Africa south of Sahara, about 58 million children are in situation of child labour.<\/p>\n<p>The official highlighted that children are the ones that suffer most and the families pay the burden, with the society suffering the ultimate consequences of the problem.<\/p>\n<p>For this reason, the CPLP member countries have adopted the Lisbon Declaration on child labour in the Portuguese speaking countries and in Guinea Bissau.<\/p>\n<p>Tomas Cruz spoke of the importance of the planning and implementation, follow-up and evaluation of the national action plans of each country in order not to put at stake the coming generations as a result of child labour.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<fieldset>\n<legend align=\"center\"><strong>More News on allAfrica.com<\/strong><\/legend>\n<\/fieldset>\n<p>AllAfrica &#8211; All the Time<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>See the article here:<br \/>\n<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/stories\/201105170959.html\" title=\"ILO Praises Government for Progress in Favour of Children\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ILO Praises Government for Progress in Favour of Children<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> 17 May 2011 Luanda \u2014 The representative of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), Tom\u00e1s Vera Cruz, Tuesday in Luanda, congratulated the Angolan Government on the progress achieved in favour of children and their full development.
