{"id":425532,"date":"2011-05-17T11:17:03","date_gmt":"2011-05-17T11:17:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/05\/17\/boxing-chief-cries-foul\/"},"modified":"2011-05-17T11:17:03","modified_gmt":"2011-05-17T11:17:03","slug":"boxing-chief-cries-foul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/05\/17\/boxing-chief-cries-foul\/","title":{"rendered":"Boxing Chief Cries Foul"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"41.2528830313\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newera.com.na\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/img\/static\/publishers\/minibanners\/newera180.jpg\" alt=\"New Era (Windhoek)\" title=\"Visit New Era (Windhoek)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Otniel Hembapu<\/p>\n<p>17 May 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>Windhoek \u2014 &#8220;We were robbed; Namibia could have won four gold medals at the Zone 6 championships, which took place in Gaborone, Botswana last Saturday,&#8221; said Joe Kaperu, secretary general of the Namibia Boxing Federation (NBF).<\/p>\n<p>Botswana emerged as the overall winner of the African Zone 6 Boxing Championship, with four gold medals and two silver medals, followed by Mauritius in second place with three gold medals and one silver medal, while Namibia came in at third with two gold medals and three silver medals.<\/p>\n<p>Namibia&#8217;s gold medallists were Desmond Mujandjae Kasuto who defeated Seychelles&#8217; Agnes Keddy in the light heavyweight category and super heavyweight, Tobias Munihango, who stopped his Seychelles opponent in the second round with a crucial knockout to bring the gold medal home.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Jafet Uutoni, Johannes Shilidema and Titus Iyambo were Namibia&#8217;s silver medallists, whilst Johannes Simon and Elias Nashivela had to be satisfied with bronze.<\/p>\n<p>Uutoni also received a trophy for best bout of the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>All the above-mentioned seven Namibian boxers qualify for the African Boxing Championship to be held in Yaounde, Cameroon from June 2- 10.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Namibia was robbed as the scoring of the judges was very controversial but that&#8217;s done and in the past now.
