Salou Souleymane, paid him a courtesy visit at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>Petinrin said Nigeria was ready to work with the Republic of Niger to fight criminal elements, noting that the unrest in Libya, Egypt and Cote&#8217;d Ivoire might directly or indirectly have a spill-over effect on both countries.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8220;We all know that terrorism is being carried out everywhere in the world. We need to work together to have a common strategy to fight crimes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We also need to work together in areas of handling smaller and light weapons as well as training of our personnel.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Responding, Souleymane said the visit was aimed at further cementing the cordial relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We intend to collaborate more with the Nigerian military. Officers and men of the Niger Republic Armed Forces had, through the existing relations, acquired more knowledge and performed creditably in the service,&#8221; he said.
