Title-holders Zesco United return to the MTN Super Division Leagueaction today after bowing out from the 2011 Orange CAF Champions League as local pacesetters, Nakambala Leopards seek to cement theirlead on top.<\/p>\n

Red Arrows, the 2004 league champions, who were knocked off the toplast weekend, will hope to regain their place while other contenders also aim for a fruitful weekend from these Week Eight fixtures.<\/p>\n

John “Butcher” Mwanza will begin life as Lime Hotspurs coach todaywith a task of finding a winning formula for the win less Ndola-based promotion side while rock-bottom Kalewa and Green Eagles are out insearch for their first 2011 league victories.<\/p>\n

Buffaloes vs Nakambala<\/strong><\/p>\n

Surprise league leaders, Nakambala Leopards’ title credentials come under serious threat today when they visit “wounded” Green Buffaloes in Lusaka.<\/p>\n

Buffaloes are still recovering from last weekend’s mauling at Power Dynamos and will be eager to feast on Nakambala at Woodlands.<\/p>\n

Nakambala coach Dick Ngwenya, who from the seven games has collected five wins, will be glad if his “leopards” devour Aggrey Chiyangi’s Buffaloes, adding them to his growing list of casualties and tighten the screws at the helm of the log.<\/p>\n

The Zambia Sugar-sponsored side, who lead the chart on 16 points, five clear of Buffaloes, will bank on Webster Mulenga, Lubinda Mundia and Signs Chibambo for a positive outing in the capital city.<\/p>\n

LinekerMwikisa, Allan Mukuka, Chipili Mungule, Felix Katongo and Italian-import, Fabio Palecini have a duty to ensure maximum points remained in Lusaka.<\/p>\n

Arrows vs Power<\/strong><\/p>\n

After a shocking loss at Forest Rangers who knocked them off the top last weekend, Red Arrows will be out to regain their position as they face-off Power Dynamos at Nkoloma in Lusaka this afternoon.<\/p>\n

George Lwandamina’s Arrows have had one of their best starts to a season until they met their waterloo at Forest in Ndola last Saturday and are desperate for tonic today against their Kitwe visitors.<\/p>\n

That 0-2 loss at Dola Hill left Arrows two points off the pace and Lwandamina will hope his charges will sparkle at home.<\/p>\n

Power who have been inconsistent in their campaign this season managed to thrash Buffaloes 4-1 last weekend after a stuttering run in their previous two games.<\/p>\n

Beston Chambeshi’s Power team need to maintain last weekend’s spirit if they are to eclipse Arrows in their Chelston township neighbourhood.<\/p>\n

Veteran striker, Adubelo Phiri, White Simwanza, Stanley Banda and JeffKabelwa have a task of avoiding an embarrassing home loss while SimonBwalya, Josephat Nkhoma, Kennedy Mudenda and Joseph Sitali will lead the Power attack.<\/p>\n

Roan vs Zesco<\/strong><\/p>\n

Holders, Zesco United return to local league action this afternoon afterbeing knocked out from the CAF Champions League with a tricky WeekEight match at Roan United in Luanshya.<\/p>\n

Last season, it was Zesco’s 3-0 victory over Roan that most certainlywon Fighton Simukonda the league title and will hope for another haulof points from Kafubu Stadium.<\/p>\n

Roan had an impressive start to this season and even shot to thesummit of the table but the three losses put them off balance and arenow just a point ahead of Zesco, who have three games in hand, on 10points.<\/p>\n

Before knowing his charges’ opponents in Africa’s second tier, theConfederation Cup tomorrow, Simukonda is targeting for a winningreturn to the MTN Super Division League.<\/p>\n

Roan coach, Paul Mulenga knows the kind of opposition his team will befacing and need to be on guard for rampaging Zesco attackers.Simukonda is spoilt for choice as he has adequate manpower to rely onfor the Roan assignment since other top players were not registeredfor continental action.However, Roan should not be underestimated as they are capable ofpulling off surprises of their own and Power Dynamos can attest tothis.<\/p>\n

Kalewa vs Zanaco<\/strong><\/p>\n

Promotion side, Kalewa’s search for their maiden Premiership win continues today when they host dethroned champions, Zanaco in Ndola.On paper, Wedson Nyirenda’s Zanaco are favoured to collect three points from this Zambia Army side that is desperate for a win.<\/p>\n

Kalewa have lost six of their seven games and only managed a priceless draw in their opening league match against fellow Army side, Green Buffaloes.<\/p>\n

Lime vs Rangers<\/strong><\/p>\n

After side lining coach, Tenant Chembo and assistant, John Lungu, LimeHotspurs will be looking up to new trainer, John “Butcher” Mwanza to find a winning formula with his first task being a tough assignment against Nchanga Rangers today.<\/p>\n

Having been given three games to prove his abilities, Mwanza needs to come up with a “midas” touch to turn this otherwise average side intoleague beaters.<\/p>\n

But Rangers coach, Bruce Mwape may not have mercy on this Lime<\/p>\n

team as he hopes for a routine victory and put his charges in contention for the elusive league title.<\/p>\n

In other games this afternoon, Nkana welcome Nkwazi to Kitwe withGreen Eagles looking for their first win against Forest Rangers while Konkola Blades host Kabwe Warriors in Chililabombwe.<\/p>\n
