\"DrDr Joseph Nunoo-Mensah, Jnr, the son of National Security Advisor, Brigadier-General Joseph Nunoo-Mensah (Rtd), who was arrested in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, has been released after over two weeks in custody.<\/p>\n

According to his father, Dr Joseph Nunoo-Mensah was granted bail on Thursday and he subsequently boarded a flight to Manchester the same day to reunite with his family.<\/p>\n

The bail conditions are not immediately available to DAILY GUIDE.<\/p>\n

Dr Joseph Nunoo-Mensah, Jnr was detained for allegedly making a rude gesture with the hand to a driver in the Emirates.<\/p>\n

Dr Joseph Nunoo-Mensah, a consultant colorectal surgeon at King\u2019s College Hospital in London, had his passport confiscated and could face a prison sentence if he is convicted.<\/p>\n

Gen Nunoo-Mensah cleared his son of any form of misconduct<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was not involved in any hanky-panky business, no cocaine business,\u201d he told DAILY GUIDE yesterday.<\/p>\n

The reports said the prominent surgeon, who was detained on a charge of \u201cpublic indecency\u201d after an altercation with a motorist, was in that country with his wife and children.<\/p>\n

The Ghanaian born surgeon however has British citizenship and he is being held as such.<\/p>\n

The incident happened on April 26, 2011 and even though he was due to return to the UK on May 1, only his wife and three children were allowed to return to the UK.<\/p>\n

Dr. Nunoo-Mensah, the reports say, was in the United Arab Emirates at the invitation of the US Cleveland Clinic, which is building a medical centre there.<\/p>\n

The reports quoted him as saying, \u201cThe man was following us flashing his lights. I was trying to abide by the speed limit and couldn\u2019t move out of his way. I pulled over when I could but instead of overtaking us, he pulled up alongside, switched the inside light on, rolled down the window and drove in parallel with us for up to a minute. He was looking at me in an intimidating way \u2013 I was quite terrified.<\/p>\n

\u201cI raised both my hands to say, \u2018What do you want?\u2019 but he pulled back to read the number plate and then took off and turned right. He alleges I stuck a finger at him but I raised both hands. I am sure he must have seen them at an angle, and that was offensive to him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr Nunoo-Mensah said the police called him the following day and confiscated his passport.<\/p>\n
