Carlo Ancelotti rues lack of Chelsea concentration<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Carlo Ancelotti has again insisted that his future as Chelsea manager will not be decided until the end of the season.<\/p>\n

The comments were made after the 2-2 draw against Newcastle<\/a> at Stamford Bridge, which may have been the Italian’s final home game in charge.<\/p>\n

“I don’t know what will happen. We have to wait just one week. A week is not a long period,” he said.<\/p>\n

“You have to propose this question to the club, not myself. I cannot give an answer today.”<\/p>\n

Ancelotti, who has one more year left on his contract, added: “It is the club that has to take a decision and judge my job.<\/p>\n

“If my job was good, I will stay. If they think it was not good, I will have to go.<\/p>\n

“In my opinion, sometimes I did a good job, sometimes I could do better.”<\/p>\n

Speculation is rife that the Italian will be sacked following Chelsea’s first trophyless season in three years.<\/p>\n

Despite their late surge in the league, the Blues lost hold of their crown to Manchester United this weekend, while early exits in the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup ensured they will end the season empty-handed for the first since Avram Grant led the team to second in the table and the Champions League final in 2008.<\/p>\n

And that has led to reports that Ancelotti will depart Stamford Bridge – with Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, Fulham’s Mark Hughes and Porto manager Andre Villas-Boas suggested as his successor.<\/p>\n

The Blues, who travel to Everton for their final game of the season, are all-but certain to finish second after drawing their final home game against Newcastle, although Ancelotti was left to reflect on two points dropped after Steven Taylor<\/p>\n

“We started the game well, playing well and scoring, and were unlucky to concede. We had a lot of difficulties but scored again,” said Ancelotti.<\/p>\n

“We needed more concentration at the end. We’ve conceded in the last minute a lot of times this season. We’ve lost a lot of points that way.<\/p>\n

“When you concede a lot of goals in the last minute, something is wrong.”<\/p>\n

Chelsea are away to Everton for their final match of the season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
