{"id":424656,"date":"2011-05-16T02:08:53","date_gmt":"2011-05-16T02:08:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/05\/16\/ebola-virus-breaks-out\/"},"modified":"2011-05-16T02:08:53","modified_gmt":"2011-05-16T02:08:53","slug":"ebola-virus-breaks-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/05\/16\/ebola-virus-breaks-out\/","title":{"rendered":"Ebola Virus Breaks Out"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"29.2688136707\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.monitor.co.ug\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/img\/static\/publishers\/minibanners\/monitor180.jpg\" alt=\"The Monitor (Kampala)\" title=\"Visit The Monitor (Kampala)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Evelyn Lirri<\/p>\n<p>15 May 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>The Ministry of Health yesterday confirmed a new outbreak of the deadly Ebola disease in the country, describing it as an epidemic. &#8220;Even one case is an epidemic because this is a very dangerous and fatal disease,&#8221; said Dr Joaquim Saweka of the World Health Organisation.<\/p>\n<p>Test results from the Uganda Virus Research Institute indicate that a 12-year-old girl from Zirowe Sub-county in Luweero District died from a strain of Ebola on May 6 at Bombo Military Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Laboratory investigations confirmed Ebola to be the cause of death and illness.
