He\/she is responsible to the Council<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Rector is responsible for the Academic and Administrative functions of the Polytechnic.<\/li>\n<li>He\/she is to promote excellence in higher education and offer high level academic leadership<\/li>\n<li>He\/she is to initiate new directions and strategies for the academic development of the Polytechnic and for implementing the Corporate Strategic Plan of the Polytechnic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Terms of Appointment:<br \/><\/strong>The appointment which is full time, shall be four\u00a0(4) years in the first instance, and may be subject to renewal for two\u00a0(2) years only in accordance with the Statutes of the Polytechnic and the Law and the Acts establishing the polytechnics<\/p>\n<p>The salary and conditions of service attached to the position are very attractive<br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div readability=\"7\">\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>The Person:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have a minimum qualification of Ph.D in the fields of <a href=\"http:\/\/joblistghana.com\/tag\/engineering\" rel=\"tag\" title=\"Posts tagged with Engineering\">Engineering<\/a>, Applied Sciences or Social Studies; a professorial or its equivalent status from a recongised tertiary institution will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Must have a proven capacity to motivate, manage and direct staff<\/li>\n<li>Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Must have wide experience and knowledge in tertiary education administration<\/li>\n<li>Must be visionary, business-oriented and able to establish rapport between industry and the Polytechnic for academic and professional development<\/li>\n<li>Must have capacity to raise funds and other resources for research and development activities of the Polytechnic<\/li>\n<li>Must have at least ten (10) years working experience in the senior management level in a tertiary or analogous institution<\/li>\n<li>Must be sober with maturity and drive for sound and impartial judgment, circumspect and above reproach<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to serve at least four (4) years before attaining the retirement age<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div readability=\"16.5059445178\">\n<p>Interested and qualified candidates should submit the following documents:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An application letter;<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum vitae, including names, postal and e-mail addresses of three referees;<\/li>\n<li>A 2-page write-up on \u201cMy Vision for Cape Coast Polytechnic as a Tertiary Institution\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Photocopies of certificates(s) and other relevant documents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications marked\u00a0<strong>\u201cAPPLICATION FOR RECTOR, CAPE COAST POLYTECHNIC\u201d<\/strong> should reach the following address:<\/p>\n<div><strong>THE CHAIRMAN<br \/>SEARCH COMMITTEE FOR APPOINTMENT OF RECTOR<br \/>C\/O THE <a href=\"http:\/\/joblistghana.com\/tag\/executive-secretary\" rel=\"tag\" title=\"Posts tagged with Executive Secretary\">EXECUTIVE SECRETARY<\/a><br \/>NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR TERTIARY EDUCATION<br \/>P.
