I asked him how he felt and he said \u2018not great\u2019 I spoke to him before the game to see if he could get through a game but he said \u2018I don\u2019t know, I\u2019m scared that I\u2019m going to break down again.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI took a chance and thought that he might as well break down now instead of the first game back next season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The game was a big one for both sides and Redknapp was clear that a positive result was vital in ensuring this season\u2019s European odyssey was not to be an isolated one.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had to win today to try to finish above Liverpool but it\u2019s still all to play for in the last game,&#8221; Redknapp continued.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019ve got a tough game with Birmingham who need a result now so it won\u2019t be easy but we\u2019ve given ourselves a chance now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The result puts Tottenham in the driving seat in terms of clinching fifth spot, that would mean Spurs would avoid the Fair Play League qualification route which would signal an earlier start to next season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI scared them before the game,&#8221; Redknapp confessed. &#8220;I said if we don\u2019t win today, we\u2019re top of the Fair Play League which means we come back in two weeks time. We\u2019d be back in June playing because we\u2019re top of the Fair Play league unfortunately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In past weeks Redknapp has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goal.com\/en\/news\/9\/england\/2011\/02\/12\/2349283\/tottenham-hotspur-manager-harry-redknapp-does-not-want\">questioned the value of the Europa League<\/a> due to its schedule and he told reporters playing on Thursdays and Sundays is not an ideal situation and he just wants his side to finish as high as possible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not fighting for the Europa League, we\u2019re just trying to finish as high as we can,&#8221; Redknapp added.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You want to win every game you can and if it means playing in that Europa League then we\u2019ll play in it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s not ideal, playing on a Thursday night but we\u2019re there.
