Ushongo (Benue) \u2013 As the remains of Lady Mimidoo Katsina-Alu were laid to rest on Saturday in Ushongo, Benue, President Goodluck Jonathan said that Nigeria lost a rear gem.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was a humble, charming and loving woman who died in the fear of Christ at a young age,\u201d Jonathan said.<\/p>\n

The President said he received the news of Mrs Katsina-Alu\u2019s death with a great shock and pain because he had interacted with her one on one and knew her as the \u201chostess of all
hostesses\u201d.<\/p>\n

He added that she left the stage when the ovation was loudest and prayed
that God would give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.<\/p>\n

However, the burial ceremony attracted different dignitaries across Nigeria including the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, Foreign Affairs Minister, Ajumogobia, Minister of Defence, Adetokunbo Kayode, NAFDAC Chief, Dr Paul Orhii and Senate President, David Mark.<\/p>\n

In an address, Gov. Gabriel Suswam of Benue expressed appreciation for the concern by the President, adding that the show of fraternity by the leadership of the country was indescribable.<\/p>\n

He said that words were not enough to console the people of Benue following the sudden and tragic departure of Mrs Katsina-Alu.<\/p>\n

Eulogising the deceased, Nigeria\u2019s High Commissioner to Canada, Prof. Iyorwuese Hagher, said that Lady Mimi was a sister, friend, a mentor and a guardian Angel to him.<\/p>\n

He said she was a simple and yet a force to reckon with in the society because of her \u201cindepth knowledge of the word of God and how she applied the teachings of the bible to everyday life\u201d.<\/p>\n

In his vote of thanks, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu, described his late wife as his closest confidant and soul mate.<\/p>\n

He said he was overwhelmed by the love and support by all and sundry, adding that members of Alu family were grateful to everyone who stood by them in their trying times.(NAN)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
