After his strike won the FA Cup for Manchester City<\/a> midfielder Yaya Toure<\/a> revealed his delight that the Blues had secured some silverware in his first season at the club.<\/p>\n

Toure, whose strike against Manchester United put Roberto Mancini’s men into the final, was the hero again as he smashed a 74th minute shot past Thomas Sorensen from 12 yards to end the Blues’ 35 year wait for a major trophy.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s fantastic to win, Manchester City is a big club and it\u2019s fantastic,\u201d he told ITV Sport<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s fantastic for the club, the dream is now real.\u201d<\/p>\n

The midfielder was the driving force behind City\u2019s performance at Wembley, a game they dominated even though they struggled to break down a resolute Stoke City defence.<\/p>\n

However, when a loose ball fell to the Ivorian inside the penalty area he fired the ball home, and revealed he was confident he had hit a decent strike.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was difficult,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were a lot of players up front, but I shot at the goal and I knew I had shot it well.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 1-0 victory capped a perfect week for the Blues who secured Champions League football for next season with a victory over Tottenham, and Toure was delighted that his first season had ended on such a high.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me I said when I joined it would be fantastic if we could win something,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo go to the Champions League and now win the FA Cup it\u2019s amazing, and we want to celebrate with the fans.\u201d<\/p>\n
