We are also prepared to explore various financial instruments in order to fund our activities and further acquisition in existing assets,&#8221; Hawala said.<\/p>\n<p>He further said that Epangelo is now busy establishing its structures in order to acquire mineral assets, as it is confident that its mineral acquisition strategy will continue to bear fruit.<\/p>\n<p>Hawala said the fact that the country could only produce two new mines in 21 years, and the high rate of unemployment are some of the compelling reasons why it was necessary to review the existing mineral policy.<\/p>\n<p>This also compelled policy makers to focus on ways to change the controlled exploitation of natural resources in the country, he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mineral rights in the country are vested in the State, we thus welcome the recent announcement by the Minister of Mines and Energy, Isak Katali, that the right to own licences for strategic minerals will only be issued to Epangelo,&#8221; Hawala said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Hawala, the public-private partnership approach in the mining sector has successfully been applied in Namibia and Botswana, particularly in diamond mining. It is thus not something new locally or elsewhere in the world.<\/p>\n<p>He added that interested parties only need to negotiate a transparent financial model that ensures a win-win solution for the country and potential investors.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Epangelo is thus ready for business.
