WINNER of the Kaduna North Senatorial district seat, Dr. Yusuf\u00a0 Datti Baba Ahmed of the Congress for Progressive Party (CPC) who floored two-times governor of Kaduna state, Senator Ahmed Mohammad Makarfi yesterday narrated how he defeated the former governor.<\/p>\n

Speaking in an interview after receiving his certificate of return at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kaduna, he said his success at the poll was not magic as was being claimed in some quarters, but that it was as a result of his long time connection with the people of his constituency.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy success or victory was not a magic. It was all about seeking peoples\u2019 votes. They gave me the votes which were more than that of my opponent, simple,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n

Responding to questions that Makarfi is more powerful than him politically, Datti who was one of the House of Representatives members that fought President Olusegun Obasanjo\u2019s third term bid in 2007, said all human beings are equal before Allah who gives power to whom He wishes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is nobody that is more than anybody, except in the fear of Almighty Allah. You could have more money, you could have more influence but you are not more or greater than anybody except in the fear of Almighty Allah. This is the only criteria you can use to judge who is who or who is more than who in life,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n

He pledged to discharge his duties to the best of his ability in order to deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians .<\/p>\n
