{"id":421342,"date":"2011-05-10T12:06:27","date_gmt":"2011-05-10T12:06:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/05\/10\/amina-to-be-put-before-court-2\/"},"modified":"2011-05-10T12:06:27","modified_gmt":"2011-05-10T12:06:27","slug":"amina-to-be-put-before-court-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/05\/10\/amina-to-be-put-before-court-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Amina to be put before court"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"caption\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/67fd3ada020x20225.jpg.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Amina is to be arraigned before court in spite of her molestation\" title=\"Amina is to be arraigned before court in spite of her molestation\" align=\"left\" \/>Amina Haruna, the woman at the centre of the alleged molestation incident at the Annex B Mensah Sarbah Hall of the University of Ghana, Legon, is to be put before court on May 30, 2011 on a charge of stealing.<\/p>\n<p>This follows the completion of investigations into her alleged stealing of one laptop and three mobile phones from the hall.<\/p>\n<p>She will also face another charge for jumping bail in an earlier stealing case which was being handled by the Legon Police.<\/p>\n<p>The acting Director of the Police Public Affairs Directorate, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Cephas Arthur, who made this known to the Daily Graphic in Accra yesterday, said Amina would be arraigned on the next adjourned date for the trial of his alleged molesters.<\/p>\n<p>He said the police had also mounted an intensive search for the arrest of four other students believed to be among those who were alleged to have molested the suspected laptop thief.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the four were supposed to be part of those who were handed over to the Legon Police by the university authorities but they failed to turn up and all efforts to trace their whereabouts had so far proved futile.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that in all, 36 students were identified from the video tape by a committee set up by the university authorities. Mr. Arthur said only 32 students showed up and they were handed over to the police to assist in investigations.<\/p>\n<p>He said at an identification parade, Amina identified nine of them and they were those who were arraigned and granted bail to reappear on May 30, 2011.
