Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, flagbearer of the \u00a0 New Patriotic Party \u00a0 for the 2012 \u00a0 elections , has tasked the electorate in northern Ghana to show the NDC red card \u00a0 in 2012.<\/p>\n
He said the NDC does not deserve any massive votes from the electorate in \u00a0<\/p>\n
the three regions of the north because of the \u00a0 Mills-Mahama led NDC government’s failure to successfully implement the Savannah \u00a0 Accelerated Development Authority policy.<\/p>\n
In his own words, Nana Addo alluded that the Mills-Mahama led NDC government \u00a0 copied blindly from the Northern Development Authority concept which was \u00a0 captured in the NPP’s 2008 campaign manifesto.<\/p>\n
This, he said explained, is why the SADA policy’s implementation has not taken off.<\/p>\n
The NPP 2012 flag bearer therefore challenged the NDC government to prove him wrong by pointing to any single project that has so far been executed under the \u00a0 Savannah Accelerated Development Authority policy.<\/p>\n
Nana Akufo – Addo \u00a0 said this when he addressed NPP leadership as well \u00a0 as winners and defeated candidates of the just ended NPP Parliamentary primaries \u00a0 in Tamale as part of the NPP’s \u201cAll hands on deck\u201d \u00a0tour.<\/p>\n
As though that was not enough, he further accused the NDC government of reneging on its campaign promise of implementing the one time premium policy for the National Health Insurance Scheme.<\/p>\n
Touching on the main agenda of his visit, Nana Akufo Addo maintained that the \u00a0 NPP needed a united front to wrestle power from the NDC, hence the need for both \u00a0 the winners and the losers of the Parliamentary primaries to work together for a \u00a0 landslide victory \u00a0 in 2012.<\/p>\n
He pleaded with the elected Parliamentary candidates to reach out to the losers \u00a0 and their followers as a means of building the party’s frontiers ahead of the \u00a0 2012 crucial elections. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Outlining his vision for \u00a0 Ghana \u00a0 in 2013, he promised that the next NPP government under his leadership will introduce what he termed as \u201cA universal health care \u00a0 system\u201d to cater for the health needs of Ghanaians irrespective of their age or \u00a0 income levels.<\/p>\n
Nana Addo also reiterated his pledge to make education free for all from the \u00a0<\/p>\n
basic to the second cycle institution levels.
Other party bigwigs who addressed the gathering included the national Chairman, \u00a0 Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey; General Secretary Mr. Owusu Afriyie affectionately \u00a0 called Sir John and Nana Addo’s campaign Manager, Mr. Boakye Agyarko.<\/p>\n
Majority of the elected Parliamentary candidates including Alhaji Boniface \u00a0 Abubakari Sadique for Salaga constituency, Alhaji Zakaria Yakubu for Yapei \u00a0 Kusawgu, Alhaji Mohammed Habib Tijani for Yendi constituency as well as Mr. \u00a0 Saani Sayibu for Mion constituency who were present at the event said they were inspired by \u00a0 their flagbearer’s message.<\/p>\n
They disclosed their intensions to work hand in hand with every member of the NPP to win their seats for the NPP in 2012. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Nana Akufo Addo and the NPP leadership have since left for the \u00a0 Upper East Region \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
