THE Senator, who currently represents Edo North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Yisa Braimoh and a former Commissioner for Agriculture in the Adams Oshiomhole government, Dr. Tunde Lakoju, have challenged before a Federal High Court, Benin, the election of Deacon Domingo Obende\u00a0 as the Senator-elect for the Senatorial zone.<\/p>\n

Joined in the suit are Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Clerk to the National Assembly and the Senate.<\/p>\n

In the suit challenging the victory of Deacon Obende at the poll, the plaintiffs want the court to restrain Obende from parading himself as the Senator-elect to represent Edo North Senatorial District in the Senate in any manner whatsoever or presenting himself to Senate and the Clerk for swearing in as the Senator representing the zone pending the determination of the substantive suit.<\/p>\n

The plaintiffs also want the court to restrain INEC, from recognising, accepting, dealing with and or forwarding the name of Obende to Senate for swearing in as the Senator, pending the determination of the substantive suit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
