Jamie Carragher preferred to focus on Liverpool’s exhilarating performance after making his 666th appearance for the club in their 5-2 victory over Fulham on Monday night.<\/p>\n

The veteran defender, 33, is now second on Liverpool’s all-time list of appearance-makers and was delighted to mark the occasion with a thumping win.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maxi Rodriguez scored a hat-trick to take his goal tally to seven in three matches, with Dirk Kuyt and Luis Suarez also on target.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We’ve been playing well of late, confidence is good and we’ve been looking forward to games. It was just one of those days for us,” he told Sky Sports<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kenny Dalglish’s team were three goals up inside 16 minutes at Craven Cottage and Carragher admitted it was a dream start<\/span><\/p>\n

“We played very well, with the start and the early goals.<\/span><\/p>\n

“When you’re winning everything’s enjoyable. We just want to keep this run going.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The fans will be happy, it’s a late night for a lot of us but we’ve got to look forward to keeping it going against Tottenham (at home on Sunday).”<\/span><\/p>\n

Clean slate<\/span><\/h4>\n

Liverpool have moved above Spurs into fifth but Carragher would not make any predictions about next season, despite the excellent run of form since Dalglish took over.<\/span><\/p>\n

He added: “Next season is a clean slate for everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We hope we can take this form into next season but I won’t make silly boasts or put expectations on ourselves.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Pressed on his own landmark appearance, Carragher said: “That’s a nice achievement for myself and it’s even better now that we’ve won.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Asked if he had plans to emulate the longevity of 37-year-old Manchester United star Ryan Giggs, Carragher continued: “I certainly don’t think I’ll do what he does. He’s a one-off.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I just want to keep playing as long as I can and do my best for Liverpool.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
