Bayern Munich goalkeeper Thomas Kraft is in Berlin undergoing a medical with newly-promoted Hertha on Monday, according to reports from BZ.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old is understood to be close to agreeing a two-year deal with Markus Babbel’s side who will rejoin the Bundesliga next season after finishing top of Germany’s second tier.<\/p>\n

Kraft’s imminent departure from the Allianz Arena is the biggest sign yet that Schalke keeper Manuel Neuer will join the Bavarian powerhouse in the summer.<\/p>\n

2011 began well for Kraft with former coach Louis van Gaal giving the youngster a chance in the first-team. However, despite an impressive start, a number of high-profile blunders saw the keeper demoted to the bench with Hans-Jorg Butt stepping in for the remainder of the season.<\/p>\n

Bayern’s general manager Christian Nerlinger recently told German media: “Thomas Kraft understandably wants to be No. 1 but we cannot guarantee this.”<\/p>\n

If Kraft joins Hertha, he will become the club’s second signing in a fortnight with capital club announcing that Tunay Torun will join in the summer from Hamburg.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
