Everton<\/a> midfielder Tim Cahill<\/a> reveals that he is risking more serious injury by continuing to play for the club this season.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cahill has only just returned from a long-term foot injury and has made limited appearances from the bench since returning from international duty with Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was thought that the midfielder\u2019s season was over three weeks ago, and the former Millwall man has explained that he is gambling on his fitness by making himself available.<\/span><\/p>\n

He told the Liverpool Echo<\/em>: “I’m happy to be on the bench and coming on because three weeks ago they’d written me off and said my season was over.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Yes, I take a massive risk playing but it’s worth it on days like Saturday coming from behind to beat Manchester City.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The 31-year-old admits that he will have to take a massive rest in the summer in order to be fit for the start of next season.<\/span><\/p>\n

He added: “I still feel my foot injury. I’m going to have to get a massive rest in the summer but I want to be a part of these good moments and help make a change.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Maybe sometimes I don’t do myself justice playing because people might feel I’m unfit or not moving well, but the matter of the fact is I’m 80% fit.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
